Online Permit Portal

The City of Bainbridge Online Permitting System was put in place to allow citizens and contractors to apply for building and planning/zoning permits for both Bainbridge and Decatur County from the comfort of your home or office. After registering for the portal, applicants have the ability to apply for permits, submit PDF drawings and documents, pay for permits, request inspections, lookup pending applications/issued permits/inspection results and review parcel information.

The City of Bainbridge has recently changed to a new permitting software called GeoPermits. We are still transitioning to the new software so not every permit is necessarily available at this time. *UPDATE - Back by popular demand, the City of Bainbridge is in the process of changing back to the SmartGov permitting system. We discontinued SmartGov in September 2024 in favor of Geopermits. After hearing from users, we have brought SmartGov back and will be transitioning to it July 1st 2025. If you have used SmartGov in the past, you probably already have an account with login credentials that will still work.

06/30/2025: While we make this transition, it may be necessary to come into City Hall for permitting issues.
