Email Roy Oliver
Roy Oliver is the City Manager for the City of Bainbridge. Oliver has served in this role since September of 2024 and prior to that was Assistant City Manager since September of 2012. During his time as Assistant City Manager, Oliver also operated as Community & Economic Development Director, where he managed the planning department, including building, code enforcement, animal control, parks, and all leisure services operations. Mr. Oliver oversaw capital improvement projects and has undertaken a variety of special projects with the direction and coordination of the activities of all City departments. Oliver also facilitates interdepartmental cooperation and sharing of resources; provides responsible staff assistance to City Council, and department heads.
Before beginning his career in local government administration in 2012, Roy worked for the Wal-Mart corporation for 25 years in various management positions throughout Georgia and as Store Manager in Bainbridge from 2007 to 2012.
Roy is a native of Camilla and graduated from Mitchell-Baker High School and Valdosta State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
Roy is married to his wife Pam who teaches 5th Grade at Hutto Elementary School, they live in Bainbridge with their 4 daughters Sara, Raidyn, Allison, and Lainee.
