Downtown of the Year Celebration: A Day of Fun, Festivities, and Community Spirit!

September 10, 2024— The City of Bainbridge is thrilled to announce our highly anticipated Downtown of the Year Celebration, a day packed with exciting events and activities designed to bring our community together in celebration of this incredible achievement. The festivities kick off at 1:00 PM with a lively scavenger hunt that promises fun and adventure for all ages. Participants will have the chance to explore our vibrant downtown, discovering hidden gems and enjoying interactive challenges along the way.

From 3:00 to 4:00 PM, families can enjoy a delightful face-painting session, where children and adults alike can transform into their favorite characters and creatures. This is a perfect opportunity for fun photos and memorable moments!

At 5:00 PM, the celebration officially begins with a warm welcome from Mayor Edward Reynolds. Following the mayor’s address, attendees can indulge in delicious cake while mingling with neighbors and friends.

The highlight of the evening will be a live music performance by the Kason Sellers Band, who will be playing from the gazebo as we dance and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. The band will keep the energy high into the evening, making for an unforgettable musical experience.

To round off the celebration, many of our local retail stores will extend their hours, giving visitors more time to explore and shop. Additionally, the Decatur County Historical Society and Firehouse Arts Gallery will be open, offering opportunities to learn about our history and appreciate local art. We invite everyone to come down and celebrate this remarkable achievement with us. It’s a perfect chance to connect with fellow community members, enjoy a day full of activities, and experience the spirit that makes our downtown so special. Join us in making this celebration a memorable event for all!
