Tell me Something Good Friday!
We know construction next door can be a bit frustrating, but we're committed to minimizing the impact on you. While we encourage public investment in our community, we're doing everything we can to make sure your experience remains as smooth as possible. Thanks for your understanding and support!
From David Hall: "We live next door to the Marriott hotel being built on Florida Street. We can’t say enough about our city going beyond making sure they do everything in their control on being there for the Halls on our needs! I would say they all are very polite and respectful when dealing with my concerns! Which is very important to me. It means a lot! Thanks to all our city employees for making our city proud!"

This morning, we observed a very chilly Arbor Day Ceremony held this year at Cheney Griffin Park. Mayor Edward Reynolds, City Council, Georgia Forestry Commission and city staff all gathered together to plant two live oaks trees to commemorate the designated day. The trees were generously donated by the Fred B. Hand, III Family as part of the Planting for the Future Campaign. The campaign's purpose is to raise funds to purchase, plant and maintain trees, shrubs and other plants to beautify Bainbridge.

The River Town Days Committee is working hard to make March 8 a great day for our community! Shoutout to Facilities Manager Norris Akins for being a part of this team and helping bring this event to life.

For Black History Month, we honor Luther Conyers, a pioneer who made history as the first Black person elected to Bainbridge's City Council in 1978. With a legacy of leadership, he became the longest-serving councilman in Bainbridge’s history at the time of his retirement. A proud Korean War veteran, he earned the Korean Service Medal with bronze stars. Luther is also a retired educator, and a member of the Savannah State University Hall of Fame and the Georgia Municipal Association Hall of Fame. His dedication and impact continue to inspire. #BlackHistoryMonth #LegacyOfLeadership

Tell Me Something Good Friday! The Chamber of Commerce recently spread some sweetness by donating delicious desserts to our hardworking city employees. City Manager Roy Oliver went the extra mile, personally delivering the treats to our Street Department while they were out working hard on the job. The team was beyond appreciative, and the gesture truly brightened their day! A big thank you to the Chamber and to Roy for showing our dedicated workers some love and support.

Tell Me Something Good Friday!
We spotted Downtown Patrol Zone PSO Shannon Fisher assisting an elderly visitor find his way to the particular retail store he had driven to Bainbridge to shop. Officer Fisher went further than just giving him directions, but she escorted him to the front door of the merchant.
Thank you, Officer Fisher, for going above and beyond for our visitors and residents alike!

Water service in the area of Lakewood Drive has been interrupted due to a water main break. Water will be turned off while crews work to make the repair. We apologize for any inconvenience.

It’s true, if you build it, they will come! The City of Bainbridge invested in the infrastructure for the Bainbridge Oaks Disc Golf Course, and it’s already making an impact.
The brainchild of Steve O’Neil, the course opened just this past April and hosted its first professional event, the Reckoning on the River, this past weekend. Thanks to our partnership with Southeast Disc Golf Events and Visit Bainbridge, who used hotel-motel tax funds to provide the winner’s cash prize, we’re excited to see the course become a hub for outdoor recreation and a key part of our economic development strategy. The future is bright for Bainbridge Oaks! #DiscGolf #OutdoorRecreation

🌟 Congratulations to Don and Elizabeth Whaley for being named the 2024 Pioneer Award Winners! 🌟
Don’s journey with Bainbridge began when he was first elected to City Council in 2013, but his and Elizabeth’s dedication to our community goes far beyond that. Together, they have spent countless years serving and supporting our area, always putting people first. Their unwavering commitment and love for Bainbridge make them truly deserving of this honor.
Thank you both for your years of service and for making Bainbridge a better place for all of us!
